Project Stocking Playlist On Facebook

Facebook is the latest social networking site to block music Web site Project Playlist. The site allows its users to compile playlists and, until recently, embed them on their profiles on social networking sites. Copyright concerns, however, have prompted these sites to pull their support.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reportedly contacted Facebook last summer about removing the Playlist application, and recently made the request again.

Facebook is working with Project Playlist but must remove the app during discussions to comply with its terms of service, according to a statement.

"Our hope and expectation is that the parties can resolve their disagreements in a manner that satisfies the developer and copyright holder, that continues to offer a great experience to music fans, and that doesn't discourage other developers from using Platform to share their creativity and test new ideas," Facebook said.

MySpace started blocking the site last weekend, according to a note on the Project Playlist Web site.

"We are working hard to get our widgets back up on user profiles across these social networking sites as quickly as possible so our users can continue to share music with their friends," Playlist CEO Jeremy Riney wrote in a blog post. "Until then, your playlists are not lost and you can still share them - they remain available here on Playlist.com, where you can continue to search for music, create and play new playlists."

The move comes two days after Playlist reached a licensing agreement with Sony BMG.

"We are going to make Sony BMG's entire catalog -- including popular artists like Beyonce, Britney Spears, Bow Wow and iCarly -- available to be part of your playlists," Riney wrote.

Cheap Quad-Core Notebook Chip

On Sunday, Intel launched the Q9000, a quad-core mobile chip that partner Acer included in a new notebook the company launched on Monday. Intel also added four new mobile dual-core chips to its portfolio, via updates to its official price list: the Core 2 Duo T9800, P9600, T9550, and P8700.

What's notable about the Q9000 is its price: $348 in 1,000-unit lots. Intel's other mobile quad-core chips all cost $851, with its top-of-the-line QX9300 chip priced at $1,038. In part, that has allowed Acer to market its new Aspire 8930G-7665 notebook at a suggested price of $1,799.99.

The 8930G-7665 allegedly contains the Q9000, although the specs Acer originally listed for the device actually correspond to the QX9300: 2.53 GHz, 12 Mbytes of level 2 cache, and a 1.066-GHz front-side bus. The Q9000 runs at 2.0-GHz, uses a shared 6 Mbyte level-2 cache, and includes a 1.066 GHz front-side bus.

An Acer representative said Monday that the original specifications were a mistake, and that the 8930G-7665 includes the Q9000, with the specifications as listed above.

Otherwise, Acer's new notebook includes an 18.4-inch WUXGA Acer CrystalBrite screen (at 1920 x 1080 resolution), 4 Gbytes of DDR3 memory, a GeForce 9700M GT/512 Mbytes graphics card, a 500-GByte hard drive, 802.11a/b/g, a 6-in-1 card reader, a Webcam, Dolby HomeTheater-class sound, and Windows Vista Premium 64-bit. The new notebook is available now.

Intel also introduced the mobile Core 2 Duo T9800 (2.93 GHz, 6 Mbytes L2 cache, $530), the P9600 (2.66 GHz, 6 Mbytes L2 cache, $348), the T9550 (2.66 GHz, 6 Mbytes L2 cache, $316) and the P8700 (2.53-GHz, 6 Mbytes L2 cache, $241). The "T" and "P" series differ in the thermal design power used; the "T" series processors are rated at 35 watts, while the "P" series is rated at 25 watts.

Avoid Cost In Phone Payment

WHY ARE YOU A T-MOBILE CUSTOMER?

What is wrong with you, were you born with air between your ears? Or is it just an acquired skill?

Most people don't want to throw money away, but T-mobile users have a knack for it! It's like a cult, recruiting more t-mobile users so that more money can be flushed! Come on guys, please tell me why you are paying 40p per minute to call all other networks and 20p per minute just to call landlines. The phone box is cheaper, you a dunce or what?

And as for your five day pass, what are you doing with it when you have to call that 0845 (you know that call is costing you about 20, infact the free numbers are costing you 20!), FOOL!

VIRGIN MOBILE

Now you may find better deals, that is your prerogative. Virgin do a outstanding a deal in comparison. Other Virgin's are 3p, text and call. Other networks are still steep at 30p (but what would happen if we all turned virgin?), landlines, including 0845 and some freephone numbers are 5p per minute ( much more reasonable), selected 0800 numbers are charged at no cost, that's NIL POIS!

Adding to these benefits is the only PAYG network that provides mobile handset upgrades, for each 100 spent on credit you are given 10 for a new phone.

Other benefits incluede being charged nothing at all for a replacement sim, and with a free sim with every phone purchased for Virgin there's plenty to go round.

Newest Six Sigma From Microsoft

Microsoft software utilizes existing technologies such as, Project Server, Infopath, Enterprise Management Solution and Visio. The combined functionality of all these technologies afford users the opportunity to meet Six Sigma challenges head on with succinct reporting templates, portfolio management updates, and Microsoft follows the structured methodology, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC). This process is used to improve existing work flows or products. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), often utilized in manufacturing and engineering environments is a methodology to design a new product or work flow.

Microsoft Six Sigma offering is considerable compared with Instantis and Centrics Software products. That appear to lack the sophestication of Microsoft's Enterprise project management, Project Server and Project Manager. In addition, the financial and project metrics function of Microsoft compared to it's comptetitors, allows Six Sigma practioners additional flexibility, when alingning projects with business objectives or organizational mission statements. The cost may be considerable with Microsoft, but if a company or organization is serious about making a sound investment concerning quality improvement...it appears Microsoft may corner the market once again.

Microsoft Six Sigma Software

As companies and organizations implement strategies and methodologies to improve the bottom line. Six Sigma, a data-driven methodology, that helps companies and organizations alike, realize significant operational improvements, financial gains, by streamlining their operations and eliminating defects has gained significant traction within the past ten years. For a company or organization to be successful with Six Sigma, all levels of leadership must be involved in the process.

For the past ten years, Microsoft has been developing a software that will answer the call of Six Sigma professionals worldwide. One of the several reasons why Six Sigma initiatives fail with a new company, has been the inability of key stakeholders accessing a wealth of information and making sense of the information in a timely manner. Six Sigma quality improvement intiatives can only realize true operational and improvement gains for a company or organization, if all stakeholders are on the same page in terms of project management lifecycle, financial impact and best practices. This is where Microsoft Six Sigma software may differ from its' competitors.

Saving Money On Phone

Pay as you go or tariff... that is always the question we face. Most of us don't use the cell phone that often and when we do it is to contact family. One way is to place all the family on the same provider and Virgin to be found at www.virgin.co.uk
is a reasonably priced provider at 3p a minute for virgin to virgin calls and 3p a text between the same. They also have special promotion like free texts periodically.

Internet text facility is available, BUT BEWARE... you could be leaving yourself open to a load of SPAM....but there is one provider I have found over the years to be reliable and basically 'bug free' names Fonetastic

They offer a free 10 SMS (Text for us unitiated) per day and they are quick and reliable...OK it does take a little 'looking' at the site when sending so as not to have to go through promotional bits, but there down the bottom there is a little click that says 'I'm not interested...send now'

Right now....well I have a cuple of calls to make....and oh yes via the normal BT provider....haven't worked out my FREE PHONE YET.. but I do appreciate that this is only BT to BT as are so many 'buy the internet phone' and get your free calls.

Swap Motherboard Last Steps

Here the next steps for swapping motherboard you can do after finished the step before. While in the device manager, remove anything dependent on the old board such as USB controller, floppy controller, etc. It’s not a big deal if you miss one here. The most important one is IDE controller.

Uninstall or disable any anti-virus software you have so it does not load at boot. If you cannot disable it, then uninstall the AV applications. Now shutdown and do the swap.

Once the system boots, it will load any native drivers it has. This would be things like floppy controller, USB controller, etc.

Now install your chipset / MB drivers and rebooting when prompted. And also install any other drivers that the OS does not have native drivers for; onboard sound, nic, etc. Do this as necessary. Finish the steps of swapping motherboard by reinstall your video driver.

Swap Motherboard

Swap motherboard without reinstall has useful if you have a trouble with the CD being read then you need to use one that is not burnt. So if you need to swap motherboard you can follow these steps below. Just for notice, don’t reboot the computer during the process.

With the old board still installed, uninstall any software that is dependent on the old board. This would be things like onboard sound, NIC, raid drivers, etc. While you are at it, uninstall anything you do not need or use.

Now you can go to device manager and select IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Right click the primary and go to update driver. Here you’ll see the wiz display a list of known drivers so you can choose. Choose standard IDE controller. Repeat for the secondary.

Note:
This is the most important part if you want the system to boot.

Okay for the next instruction you can read in the next article here.
Beginning in 2009, Hewlett-Packard will offer a notebook battery upgrade that is guaranteed for three years.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Boston-Power, a supplier of lithium-ion batteries that will sell its Sonata battery to Hewlett-Packard. Representatives from both HP and Boston-Power declined to divulge many details on the relationship, primarily as B-P is a startup company, ramping production to meet the demands of its first customer.

A representative from HP said that the company will make the Sonata battery available on some mainstream consumer notebooks, without specifying which models. HP's commercial notebook division is "looking at it," a spokesman said.

The Sonata battery upgrade will cost between $20 and $30, the HP spokesman said. HP will market it as the HP Enviro Series program notebook battery with Sonata technology.

The guarantee will cover the performance of the battery, specifically a certain capacity level, according to the HP spokesman. If the battery's capacity drops below the guaranteed level -- a value less than 100 percent, the HP spokesman said -- a user can exchange the battery for another. For its part, Boston-Power markets Sonata as a technology that delivers "like-new performance" for three years, offering the "same, unwavering capacity of a new battery that entire time".

Although lithium-ion batteries have been plagued with a rash of problems, a Boston-Power spokesman said the company "was fundamentally founded on safety. It's a non-negotiable issue.

Toxic Toner Dust Laser Printer

Do cell phones give you cancer? Will excessive computer use make you go blind? Do laser printers emit pathogenic toner particles into the air?

The jury is out on the first two questions, but we can rest easy knowing that we will not fall prey to toxic laser printer dust.

"Contrary to numerous reports, laser printers release hardly any particles of toner into the air," according to data from Germany's Fraunhofer Wilhelm Klauditz Institute (WKI).

The debate made headlines last summer when Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia released a report that said particles released by laser printers were as dangerous as cigarette smoke.

The QUT report said that laser printers release "toner-like" particles into the air, but WKI disagreed with that assessment.

The devices do not release the toxic toner, WKI said, but they do emit ultra-fine particles made of volatile organic-chemical substances (VOCs). "One essential property of these ultra-fine particles is their volatility, which indicates that we are not looking at toner dust," the study said.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, VOCs are present in thousands of products like paints and lacquers, paint strippers, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials and furnishings, glues and adhesives, and permanent markers.

Printer VOCs are caused by the fixing unit, which heats up the printer so that the toner will stick to the paper. "The high temperatures cause volatile substances such as paraffins and silicon oils to evaporate, and these accumulate as ultra-fine particles," WKI said.

While this might not sound very appetizing, WKI said that the same level of VOCs are emitted while using a toaster.

WKI did not release specific statistics on levels of VOCs or exactly what health issues these chemicals might cause.

Moral of the story? Small doses. Your office printer is probably not going to kill you, but just as you might crack a window before painting a room in your house, it is perhaps not the brightest move to breathe deeply on a consistent basis near your laser printer.

Second moral of the story? Deal with it. VOC filters tested by WKI were shown to have little effect. "As the ultra-fine particles are not emitted from a specific part of the printer, but also from the paper output, for instance, a filter can only have a limited effect," according to the report.

Intel Core I7 Processors For Gamer

Dell is not exactly known for its large number of computers for the games, even if they Alienware brand to this aspect for consumers. This time he was with a series of Alienware with the latest Intel offers - the heart of each processor I7 route in an unprecedented speed and performance by three new games for extreme office - the Alienware Area - 51 X-58, Alienware Area - 51 X-58 ALX and the Dell XPS 730x.

The three dynamical systems are miles ahead, now sold by Dell, such as the Intel Core processor I7 is capable of much more instructions per clock cycle, improving the ability to simultaneous treatment. This means improving the physical, a greater interactivity the environment, intelligent and IV, an increase of the sinking, the real life experience for the players, even if the accidents are not the difference between the amount of hardcore, more than fulfilled.

The Alienware Area-51 ALX and X-58 X-58 are capable of a huge storage capacity of up to 12 GB triple-channel DDR3 memory (now that many, they should ask), while the small XPS 730x Maxes 6 GB (still far from any action which today). The three systems on the new Intel architecture QuickPath that the speed of communication between the processor and the components of the system in just as quickly into the loading between levels without changing applications in the background, as the playback utilities package, surfing the Internet or the downloading of movies and music.

I7 Intel Core processors have proven to be an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous generation of the platform, so you can be sure that the bottleneck in the processor has been reduced or even omitted for some applications and games.

Well, like all Intel Core I7 Power System (especially with the Alienware brand) do you expect in the future will be a series of system
